Lauren Baker Artist Biography

Born in Middlesbrough, UK in 1982, Lauren Baker's art career began with a trip to South America in 2012. After joining a mosaic street-art project in Brazil, Lauren had a vision to develop her skills and took to Venice, the best place to study mosaic in the world. Lauren Baker was destined to be an artist and specialised in  ‘Site Specific Installations’  at The Art Academy in 2017, and became a certified ‘Creativity Coach’ at Mindful Talent in 2019. She continued to lecture and continues to research outer space as a personal interest, reflected in much of her work.

Lauren Baker’s Art

Inspired by light, human connection, metaphysics and the expansiveness of the universe, Lauren uses diamond dust, neon and kinetic elements to create her eye-catching, unique work. Many of her pieces directly reference the frequencies emitted by astronomical bodies, as well as those attributed to plants, human organs and chakras.

Lauren Baker: art for a good cause

Focused on environmental sustainability and animal conservation, Lauren has raised over £80,000 for charity with her artwork, she is an Ambassador for One Tree Planted, as well as Save Wild Tigers, and has done multiple collaborations with Help Refugees. Endorsed by Jimmy Choo and Jaime Winstone, Lauren Baker created an immense life-size tiger head encrusted with 52,000 crystals, which toured Asia and sold for an incredible £30,000 at the tiger conservation charity auction for Save Wild Tigers. In 2015, Lauren Baker sold an intricate Steinway grand piano encrusted with half a million crystals for £420,000 to an influential sheikh in Qatar.
