Bob Dylan has won more awards than just about anyone. However he’s a man that has not sought accolades or chased awards and his recent achievement is no exception.

“Right now we are doing nothing. I have called and sent emails to his closest collaborator and received very friendly replies. For now, that is certainly enough,” the Academy’s permanent secretary, Sara Danius, told state radio SR earlier today (October 17), according to The Guardian.

1960’s Dylan’s first visual works came to the public domain including the album cover titled the Music From The Big Pink by the Band who backed Dylan on his 1966 tour. A book titled Drawn Blank followed in 1994 and exhibitions of reworked versions of the images from this book first appeared at an exhibition at Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz in Germany 2007—2008.
Two important exhibitions followed in 2010 which helped establish Dylan’s visual works on the international stage. The first was held at the Accadmeia Albertina delle Belle Arti in Turin, Italy. The second was at the Asahi Exhibition Centre Tokyo and many more followed in Copenhagen, London and New York.
