Sourcing inspiration from The Great Wave of Kanagawa, one of the worlds most iconic pieces of art by Asian artist Katsushuka Hokusai, David O'Brien creatively honours the artwork on a unique mosaic surfboard. O'Brien's passion and admiration for mosaic art began after a holiday to Barcelona where he visited Antoni Gaudi's Park Guell and became enamoured with Gaudi's work. Since, his work has developed from wall hanging mosaics to a venture into a luxurious, designer inspired sphere by creating Nike Air Jordan and Alexander McQueen mosaic trainers. Growing up under the blazing African sun surrounded by the continent’s vibrant colours has had a lifelong effect on Rozanne Bell. The artist’s artwork is alive with saturated, vivid colours. “I could no more paint a bleak, dull picture than I could fly to the moon,” she says now. “Anyone with an African upbringing will tell you the same: African art is so bright." Rozanne Bell was born in Zimbabwe in 1962 and spent the first 40 years of her life enjoy the colourful surroundings of Africa that has had a huge affect on her art. "I will sit with a coffee observing people as they pass in their daily lives." Well acclaimed artist, David Gonzalez Valor, was born in Alicante and completed his education at the San Carlos Fine Art School in Valencia. Based in Spain, David Gonzalez Valor finds inspiration for his artwork whilst watching passerby's from his Spanish windows. "I try to capture intimate moments, actions and observations in life,” says the artist. David specialises in the creation of original artwork only, making each piece that extra bit special and unique. The used of mixed media creates a textured finish to these stunning artworks and they work perfectly together for a display or alone for a gorgeous touch of artwork around the home.
