Leigh Lambert

Born in 1979 in Newcastle Leigh Lambert is a 'Northern lad done good'. Newcastle is a city with a reputation built on hard graft over the centuries including wool, coal and shipbuilding industries. It's a region that lies at the heart of the Englands industrial soul and has spored many a great artist.

Although Lambert has spent time in various art colleges, he left with no formal qualification in his beloved subject. However, his passion and skill along with some Northern grit helped him forge a career in his favourite subject, art only to be recognised as Best Upcoming Artist by the Fine Art Trade Guild Awards in 2014.

In 1996 at the age of 17, he moved to Warrick, and it is there to this day that he lives and paints from his garden studio. It is his memories of his childhood and the stories that his grandparents and parents tell him that provide his inspiration to paint.

Just as happy working with oil or watercolour, his artwork driven by his Northern routes and stories of honest childhood play that takes the viewer back to a time in yesteryear. Nostalgia with a splash of colour set in a monochromatic backdrop captures the moment perfectly.

Its this throwback in time that his collectors now crave often looking at their children which are often religiously hooked to the latest technological 'device'.
