Who's Up Next

by Temper

Who’s up Next (Who's Next, The Who)
Four quad bikes in this piece clearly representing Quadrophenia, but there is so much more to see in ‘Who’s Up Next’, informed by ‘Who’s Next’ by The Who from 1971. For example, 1971 is the year that the artist was born so perhaps a particular meaning for him in this album. A recognition in this work of one of Temper’s favourite songs by The Who ‘Batman’ comes in the form of a very small quad bike in the background of the piece which is in fact designed to look like the 1950s bat mobile!
The concrete column, on which one would expect to be covered in graffiti when replicated by a graffiti artist is refreshingly and deliberately left clean, but for the B-boy atop who is clad in a Union Jack sweatshirt, which pays homage to The Who has one of the most significant bands in British music.
